Main Activator(s) and spectrum:

Most Common Activator:

Other activators:            Nd3+ , VO43- ,

Peaks in the spectrum (nm):

VO43- : broad band at 655nm

Nd3+ : 808, 879, 899, 901nm

No spectrum for the moment

Comments on activators and spectra:

Vanadinite was studied by steady-state luminescence spectroscopy and luminescence of (VO4)3- metal-oxygen complexes was found (Gorobets and Rogojine 2001).

Excitation by CW laser with 532 and 780 nm revealed narrow luminescence lines possibly belonging to Nd3+ and luminescence band similar to ascribed to (VO4)3-
