Comments on activators and spectra:

Prosopite was studied by steady-state luminescence spectroscopy and luminescence of trivalent REE, such as Gd, Ce, Dy, and Sm, was found (Gorobets and Rogojine 2001).

Excitation by CW laser with 532 nm revealed narrow luminescence lines possibly belonging to Eu3+, Sm3+ and Cr3+ and luminescence band peaking at 720 nm (Gaft)
