With unfiltered SWUV - dull green fluorescence (not true fluorescence - optical effect created by the selective absorption of yellow, blue and violet color by the Nd letting the green color of the lamp alone to be reflected).


Photoluminescence studies of bastnasite confirmed the presence of at least four trivalent rare earths, such as Sm, Eu, Dy and Tb in trace quantities.

The rare earth ions are situated at distorted sites in the system surrounded by defect centers (Mohapatra et al. 2014). (Gaft)
