Phosphorescence (in the common meaning of the term) seen by naked eye:
No Data
Comments:
Microscopic and microprobe study of polished sections resulted in identification of the supposed bassetite of the Jáchymov (Joachimsthal) ore district as a mixture of meta-autunite and amorphous Fe-hydroxides, which replaced the original U-mica. The pseudomorphs fluoresce mottled yellow in ultraviolet light. (see bibliography).But Bassetite itself is non-fluorescent.
Main Activator(s) and spectrum:
Most Common Activator: (UO2)2+ (Uranyl ion) intrinsic
Other activators: ,
No spectrum for the moment
Best Locality for luminescence(*):
- Jáchymov District (St Joachimsthal), Krušné Hory Mts (Erzgebirge), Karlovy Vary Region, Bohemia, Czech Republic (Not really Bassetite but a mix of Meta-Autunite and Fe hydroxydes) ;
(*)Data are not exhaustive and are limited to the most important localities for fluorescence
