Novacekite can have two forms: nováčekite-I is triclinic while nováčekite-II is monoclinic. 

Nováčekite-I is very unstable under ambient conditions and quickly dehydrates to nováčekite-II and also to metanováčekite.

Most Nováčekite specimens in collections seem to be either nováčekite-II or metanováčekite.
